Why no viewing of DWT?

Post by Peter » 15 Jun 2006, 10:52

Hello

I want to view DWT-files (they are identical to DWG) and edited my wincmd.ini, adding the DWT-extension:

Code: Select all

5=D:\Program Files\totalcmd\plugins\Cadview\CADView.wlx
5_detect="FORCE | EXT="DWG" | EXT="DWT" | EXT="DXF" | EXT="PLT" | EXT="HGL" | EXT="RTL" | EXT="HG" | EXT="PLO" | EXT="HP" | EXT="HPG" | EXT="HPGL" | EXT="PRN" | EXT="HP2" | EXT="SVG" | EXT="CGM""
But I have no success - DWTs are shown only with binary code, but not as a drawing.

How to view DWTs?

Dear Peter,

The question is not so simple as it could seem first. Of course, we can add support of DWT file format basing on our DWG libraries but first we need to make necessary researches to study possible problems (exceptions, access violations etc.) And only after some testings the positive decision will be taken.

Sergey

I am not a software specialist and I am curious about what the difference is between DWG and DWT. I made a lot of DWGs, renamed them to DWT - and that's it. Same format, some content, ...

Best regards

Peter

By the way:

The files BAK (not all of them, I know)and SV§ are DWG-files which could be displayed in CadView. All of them has the code "AC10" on beginning of file.

Hello Peter,
why the new version does not have this function (viewing of sv$ and bak witg "AC10..")?
This problem has not been solved yet because we have no final decision on how support of sv$ and bak files to be implemented.

Seem to be fixed in Version 7, but not listed in "Change.txt/History.txt".

True?
